Top Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Leader in Okpe Local Government, Hon Dr. Joseph Otirhue has bagged an award of excellence for his role in delivering the PDP at the just concluded 2023 General Elections by the Association of Non – Indigenes in Okpe Local Government.
Otirhue, who acted as coordinator for the Party in Okpe during the polls received the award during a courtesy visit at his country home.
Recall that RERO TV earlier reported that the group made up of persons from the Arewa, Igbo, Yoruba and other ethnic groups had visited Otirhue prior to the election where he charged them to vote massively for PDP gubernatorial candidate, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori and the House of Assembly Candidate for Okpe, Hon James Augoye. The group kept to their word and promptly delivered after the charge by Otirhue.
During the presentation, speaker of the Non – Indigenes lavished praise on Otirhue’s leadership qualities, positing that his personality and convincing remarks was what propelled them to shun other parties and vote massively for the PDP.
In his acceptance speech, Otirhue thanked the group for keeping to their word before assuring them that the Oborevwori’s administration is an all encompassing one that will give non natives equal opportunities in Delta State.
Otirhue went further to urge them to continue in their peaceful disposition in Okpe land as only in peace can the dividends of Democracy be felt across the State.
Also present at the meeting, was Engr. Iyeni Eghele Samuel a youth leader in Okpe who used the medium to congratulate the governor for a successful swearing in and also congratulated Hon joseph Otirhue for the award as well deserved.
According to Iyeni Eghele Samuel, Otirhue is very organized and coordinated, and his award serves as a pointer to his deep rooted political sagacity.
