A Heartfelt Birthday Tribute to His Excellency, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori

Urhobo Wadoo

With deep respect and admiration, I, Evelyn Omotejohwo Akpojiyovwi, President of the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) Canada Branch, extend warm and heartfelt congratulations to His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, Executive Governor of Delta State, on the joyous occasion of his 62nd birthday.

This remarkable milestone is not just a personal celebration, but a meaningful opportunity to reflect on a life of public service, sacrifice, and leadership. It marks a moment of sober reflection, both for the Governor and for all Deltans, on the path charted under his stewardship and the future we collectively aspire toward.

As the leader entrusted with the hopes and mandate of millions through the MORE Agenda, this occasion offers a valuable chance to pause, evaluate, and recommit to the urgent and evolving needs of the people, especially those at the grassroots level, whose lives are most shaped by the pulse of government decisions.

In these times, it is critical to resist the comfort of hollow praises or political noise, and instead, remain anchored in integrity, vision, and accountability. True leadership demands unfiltered truth, courageous reforms, and an unwavering connection to the everyday struggles of ordinary citizens.

There is a pressing need for deeper innovation in governance, expanded infrastructure, and bold investment in human capital. These are not just developmental goals, they are the foundation for sustainable progress and inclusive prosperity across every corner of Delta State.

On behalf of all Urhobo sons and daughters in Canada, I urge Your Excellency to continue deepening your connection with rural communities, whose resilience is often tested by limited resources and economic adversity. Their needs must remain at the centre of your policies and actions.

We recognize and commend the meaningful strides made under your administration so far. Still, we encourage you not to relent. Let this new chapter of your life be marked by renewed energy, visionary action, and a commitment to leave a legacy that generations will celebrate with pride.

As you celebrate this new age, we pray for divine wisdom, strength, and grace to guide your steps. May you and your family continue to enjoy good health, protection, and peace. We also pray for Delta State that unity, equity, and prosperity reign in our land.

Happy 62nd birthday, Your Excellency!

With warm regards,
Evelyn Omotejohwo Akpojiyovwi
President, U.P.U. Canada Branch,
For and on behalf of all Urhobo sons and daughters in Canada.
