With deep pride and a heart full of admiration, I join millions of well-wishers across Yorubaland, South- South and beyond at large to celebrate a truly historic moment—the installation of Seyi Tinubu as the Òkanlòmo of Yorubaland by the revered Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Akeem Owoade, at a colourful and culturally rich ceremony held within the ancient walls of the Alaafin’s Palace.
This prestigious honour is far more than a title; it is a powerful affirmation of character, service, and commitment to humanity. In the sacred traditions of the Yoruba people, such recognition is reserved for individuals whose lives reflect courage, compassion, and an unwavering dedication to the progress of society. By this noble conferment, the throne of Oyo has spoken clearly—acknowledging Seyi Tinubu as a worthy son of the soil and a symbol of hope for the present and the future.
Seyi Tinubu has, over time, distinguished himself through humility, generosity, and a people-centred approach to leadership.
