ABUJA/Nigeria: Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Senator Ede Dafinone, has showered glowing tributes on Chief Paulinus Akpeki, the Ugo of Okpe Kingdom and Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta Central, as he marked another year in his distinguished life.
In a goodwill message released on Sunday to commemorate Chief Akpeki’s birthday, Dafinone described him as a consummate political tactician whose career has been defined by courage, strategic depth and unwavering commitment to public service.
“This celebration offers a fitting moment to honour a man whose political journey has been defined by courage, strategy, and unwavering commitment to public service,” the senator said.
He noted that Chief Akpeki’s contributions to democracy and party politics in Delta State were both significant and enduring, stressing that his impact cut across legislative service, executive governance and party leadership.
Dafinone recalled that as a former Member of the House of Representatives and a former Commissioner in Delta State, Chief Akpeki brought depth, experience and purpose to governance, consistently demonstrating a firm grasp of policy formulation, grassroots mobilisation and inclusive leadership.
“His strategic insight has continued to shape political discourse and party cohesion in Delta State,” he said, adding that Akpeki’s influence within the APC had remained a stabilising factor in the party’s growth and internal unity.
Beyond his years in public office, the senator described the APC Delta Central chairman as a rallying point within the party, offering guidance, wisdom and mentorship to both emerging and established political actors.
“He has distinguished himself as a stabilising force and rallying point within the APC, offering guidance, wisdom and mentorship to both emerging and established political actors,” Dafinone said.
He added that Chief Akpeki’s leadership of the APC in Delta Central reflected resilience and a deep understanding of the political landscape, qualities he said had strengthened the party’s presence and organisational structure across the district.
As Chief Akpeki marked his birthday on January 19, 2026, Senator Dafinone prayed for God’s continued blessings upon his life, wishing him good health, sound mind and divine grace in the years ahead.
“I pray that Almighty God grants him continued good health, a strong mind, and His grace as he ages gracefully. May his days be filled with peace, fulfilment, and the satisfaction that comes from a life of service and impact,” he said.
The senator concluded by wishing Chief Akpeki many more fruitful years in good health and happiness, congratulating him on the milestone and celebrating his enduring legacy of service to Delta State and Nigeria.
