Nigerian born novelist, Chimamanda Adichie
has thrown support behind the embattled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu over call for the separate independent country, Biafra.

In a shared post on Monday, Adichie acknowledged that Kanu’s agitation principle is democratic and remains valid before internal and international laws, whether in detention or not.

Her published message read: “Nnamdi Kanu demands are democratic and valid. They remain valid in or out of detention.

Recall Kanu has been kept under the custody of the Department of State Security, DSS, since 28 June 2021.

The AGF, in a press statement on Monday last week noted the IPOB leader was arrested to further his felony case before the Federal High Court.

The attorney maintained that Kanu’s rearrest followed the diplomatic process but details on the countries involved were not disclosed
