Citing progress in reducing inflation and upwards swing in the national economy that is also reflecting on the livelihood of the people, Deputy President of the 9th Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has urged Nigerians to celebrate the Yuletide with optimism and positive mindset that Nigeria is back on the right track and a glorious future beckons.
In a his Christmas message, Senator Omo-Agege said Christmas reminds all that governance and public service is about giving the people the platform to live an impactful life.
Senator Omo-Agege’s Christmas message reads: “Thankfully, after a tough start given what it inherited, the government has weathered the storm and is creating the pathway for more Nigerians to be lifted out of poverty. It required statesmanship, tough decisions and an unwavering commitment to chart a fresh course for the economic trajectory to change.
“Christmas is a season of joy and goodwill. Given what Nigeria and her people have had to contend with in the past, it is right and proper to celebrate this Yuletide knowing we are on the irreversible course to moving the country to a level where the true virtues of our Nigerian-ness will have full expression.
“This year has been remarkable for the turn around in the fortunes of our people. Inflation has been steadily reducing with the drop in the cost of living and the rising value of the naira. We are a people that use seasons like this to express our love for one another. Let us return to that virtue and eschew the negative tendencies that had held us down.
“I believe that with the outcome of all the policies and programmes of the present administration, Nigerians have cause to lead a more purposeful life in the years ahead. Let us continue to support the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to sustain the shift to better times.
“I wish all Christians a blissful Christmas characterised by renewed hope in a prosperous Nigeria,” Senator Omo-Agege’s stated in his message.
