By allocating 0.5% of the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) to the fund and encouraging private sector participation, the Governor according to Hon Onosa has demonstrated a commitment to shared responsibility in security management.

The fund’s focus on acquiring modern surveillance equipment, operational vehicles, communication tools, and training for security personnel and community vigilante groups is a well-rounded approach to addressing security challenges. The rebranding of Operation Delta Hawk to Operation Delta Sweep, a joint task force involving various security agencies, further underscores the administration’s dedication to enhancing security.

The significant donation of ₦10 billion from Tantita Security Services Limited, led by High Chief Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo), and the pledge of ₦100 million from Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, Group Chairman of Access Holdings Plc, demonstrate the private sector’s confidence in the initiative. The projected target of ₦100 billion for the fund by 2025 is ambitious but achievable, given the momentum generated so far.

“Overall, Governor Oborevwori’s leadership in promoting public-private partnership in security management is a step in the right direction. By prioritizing security, the administration is creating a conducive environment for businesses to thrive, investors to commit resources, and citizens to live safely. Kudos to the governor and the people of Delta State for this innovative approach to security management.

“As a security expert i appreciate the move by our hardworking Governor and i know that this initiative would booster security in Delta State”.
