— as Chief Perkins Umukoro move motion for vote of confidence to Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori seconded by Hon Ayemidejor Austine .
On Tuesday, 5th November 2024, the Governor of Delta State Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori engaged the people of Sapele in a town hall meeting to interact and chat about the way forward as a people.
The ” Delta Cares “Governor was represented by foremost Senator Emmanuel Edesiri Aguariavwodo, Senior Political Adviser to the Governor of Delta State.
OBJECTIVES OF THE MEETING
The objectives of holding the consultative meeting were as follows:
To consolidate on the established principle of consulting the good people of Delta State before the commencement of the preparation of the annual Budget for each fiscal year.
Secondly, To present the achievements of the administration vis-à-vis the completed and ongoing projects across Local Government Areas (LGAs) and to present the future programs/agenda of government which would impact positively on the people of the State.
Thirdly, To create a forum whereby the representatives of all towns and communities in the State could clearly articulate their areas of critical needs and thereafter collate the needs for inclusion in the proposed 2025 Budget in line with the M.O.R.E Agenda of the present administration.
REMARKS BY THE CHAIRMAN PEOPLE’S DEMOCRATIC PARTY PDP SAPELE.
The Chairman of PDP Sapele Hon. Francis Okpigben welcomed all
participants to the meeting equally expressed appreciation to His Excellency, Rt Hon. Francis Oborevwori, for his attentiveness to the needs of the community.
The ongoing projects of our working Governor are visible and laudable and in line with the M.O.R.E Agenda Mantra. Our dear Governor “WE NEED MORE”.
Amid so many rural/ urban seeking attention, Sir, we humbly appeal that the under-listed roads should be given urgent attention.

Tani Road Etamua ( Ugwanja)
He also mentioned the Amukpe axis, where incessant flooding has ravaged substantially.
People-oriented Chairman Sapele Local Government Okakuro Abeke Bright Afure highlighted that the ongoing projects in different areas in this local government are massive and will affect the economic well-being of safaris; he called on the people to trust the Agenda and support the course.
During the interactive sections, women, Men, and youths were given opportunities to add their inputs as it affects development; after their speeches, lapses were recorded in divert areas that need attention.
The Governor, through his representative, Senator Aguariavwodo, thanked the Sapele people for their unwavering confidence in the Oborevwori leadership and restated the Governor’s commitment to ensuring better living for the people.
He added that all complaints and recommendations will be communicated and given attention.
He also appreciated the caliber of leaders present in the meeting and hailed them for their commitment towards a better Sapele. The senator encouraged the people not to give up on the present hardship; though very uncomfortable and disheartening, I urge Deltans to stick together and always embrace development and not retrogression.
The Chief whip of Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Chief Perkins Awolowo Umukoro, passed a vote of confidence on the Governor for his giant strides and was seconded by Former Delta Commissioner and Present Special Adviser to Governor Hon. Austin Ayemidejor.
