The Ejorhofo of Mosogar Kingdom, Engr Chief Joe Omene, has reacted to the recent announcement by the Oguedion in Council of Mosogar Kingdom to reinstate him back to the fore after derobing him a few months ago.

It should be recalled that Chief Omene was publicly derobed by a unanimous decision by the Oguedion having announced the demise of the Late Monarch of Mosogar Kingdom, Hrm King Samson Omene without allegedly following due process by the kingdom.

However, Ejorhofo has now been reinstated back by the Oguedion with Secretary of Ovie in Council Chief Sylva Anuwa confirming to RERO TV.

Chief Joe Omene, however, has reacted to his reinstatement via conversation with RERO TV. Chief Omene has reacted angrily and slammed the whole scenario as disrespectful to his personality and has demanded a hefty ransom to be paid to him by the kingdom to appease him from pressing further charges.

“It is entirely their business because What they did has nothing to do with me. I was not there when they said they derobed me and I was not there when they reneged.

” In the first place they cannot derobed me as a Chief. I got my Chieftaincy Titles from 3 different kingdoms, Mosogar, Abraka and Ughelli. So I’m a Chief anywhere. What they did is criminal libel.

” They cannot Derobe me because my chieftaincy title is registered by the State Government and no individual or Oguedion can say I am no longer a Chief.

Secondly they had no right to Derobe me because I only interpreted an interview granted by another person. They never called me to Oguedion to explain my actions before I was derobed.

They went on to say after eight days that I had been ostracized, something even the government or president cannot say because it is an infringement of my human rights.

They said nobody should associate with me or do business with me in the Kingdom. But being a peace loving person I never reacted even though some youths came to me and said they wanted to protest to Oguedion I told them not to. Being a peace loving person So I took the matter to the court and the Police and I am contesting it.

“Their action is a criminal libel against me, hence I went to the court to sue for libel of N100m each against the Chiefs who spoke to the press about me.

” It is now they are begging for settlement and saying they want to take my chair back and declare their pronouncement null and void, but as far as I am concerned it is not settled. I will not allow anyone to rubbish a name I have built over the years. And those who made the pronouncement must pay for it. They made the announcement to derobe me and they are still the ones reinstating me.

I have not said anything because I was not in the Oguedion. This is my position. “
