Former President General of Urhobo Progress Union, UPU, Engr Chief Joe Orode Omene, the Ejorhofo of Mosogar Kingdom has penned a heartfelt message to mourn the demise of former Deputy Governor of Delta State, Professor Amos Utuama.

It is widely confirmed that the former Deputy Governor passed on in the early hours of Saturday, 2nd of November 2024 after a protracted illness.

Chief Omene in his statement made available to RERO TV has described the passing of Prof Utuama as a huge loss to Urhobo Nation, sighting the unique and accessible nature of the Late Utuama as rare and one that Urhobo would sorely miss.

“I received with great shock the passing of a great patriot Of Urhobo Nation, Former Deputy Governor of Delta State, Prof Amos Utuama.

” Prof Utuama was an outstanding son of Urhobo who always puts the interest of his people first before any other. During his time as Deputy Governor when the Late General Patrick Aziza was UPU President General, Prof Utuama stood by the UPU and was always available whenever needed.

“Utuama always opened his doors whenever Urhobo called and rendered advice when required.

” Urhobo Nation has lost a great icon, a gentleman to the core with zero pride. It is my prayer that God gives his family the strength to bear this irreplaceable loss and may his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.” His statement read.
