Trouble seems to be brewing as The Nigerian Bar Association, NBA has allegedly accepted a petition against Former Delta State Attorney-General Peter Mrakpor.
Mrakpor who hails from Ughelli South Local Government Area of the state to defend himself before the dual Chairman of the Legal Practitioner Disciplinary Committee (LPDC) in the persons of JB. Dawudu SAN and the prosecutor Jubril Okutepa SAN.
The source disclosed that, “The loads of crimes committed by Peter Mrakpor has been embarrassing and disgraceful to the Delta State Judiciary, the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria and lawyers across the country.
“Peter Mrakpor’s Financial miss-appropriateness has forced the Nigerian Bar Association to accept the petition against Peter Mrakpor to the NBA”
“The applicant has finished his case while Mrakpor is yet to put up his defense before the dual Chairman of the Legal Practitioner Disciplinary Committee (LPDC)”
“The implication of Mrakpor’s misconduct among which is to strip him of the rank of SAN, bar him from practicing Law for life and or refund the sum as contained in the petitioners petition which has been found to be meritorious by the NBA”
“The Delta State Governor and State Government is advised to deal away with persons of questionable character to stop the continuous embarrassment the state has experienced for sometime”
