Following the yesterday’s protest by Okpe Youths over the arrest of Sapele Okpe Community Youth Leader Obomine Ekariko by a suspected Itsekiri Leader over an alleged Land dispute, RERO TV have taken time to move around the community to get situation reports on the state of things in the town.
Recall that the Sapele Okpe Community Chairman Chief Onoriode Temiagin had earlier placed a suspension on the yearly Itsekiri Day Celebration slated for Saturday 1st of October and demanded the immediate release of Obomine Ekariko.
Road block has been mounted across several routes in the town such as Olympia, reclamation, Okpe road, Abeke road and more.
At Sapele market, businesses have been going smoothly but a host of shops was locked and the market relatively scanty as traders and customers have found it difficult to navigate various routes to the market.
