In a ceremony held earlier today, Hon. Bright Afure Abeke, the Executive Chairman of Sapele Local Government Council, swore in Mr. Ufuoma Egwubare and Mr. Champion Umukoyo as the new Zone A (Sapele Urban) and Zone B (Sapele Rural) General Vigilante Commanders, respectively.
Chairman Abeke emphasized that the newly appointed commanders will operate under the supervision of Chief Nwankwo Ikechukwu, the Director General of Security, who will have disciplinary powers to address any misconduct by group members.
The Chairman reiterated his commitment to maintaining a secure environment, stressing that he will have zero tolerance for any form of criminal activity.
“Any individual found engaging in criminal acts will be brought to book,” Chairman Abeke warned. “Additionally, all former ID cards are now invalid, and the council will provide new, genuine ones. Anyone found forging IDs will face arrest.”
Chief Ikechukwu Nwankwo, the DG of Security, commended Chairman Abeke for his proactive approach to security.
“We will work tirelessly to meet expectations and collaborate with the Chairman to elevate Sapele to the next level,” Chief Nwankwo pledged.
Mr. Ufuoma Egwubare, speaking on behalf of the newly appointed commanders, expressed gratitude to Chairman Abeke for the opportunity to serve their community.
“We will not disappoint him and will work diligently to ensure Sapele remains a peaceful place, discharging our duties without fear or favour,” Mr. Egwubare vowed.
