***Returns to the PDP Family

~ Tagbarha Malcolm, FHNR

Chief Richard Randy Okotie, a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Sapele Local Government Area, who announced his decision to quit partisan politics, few days ago has rescinded his decision and returned back to the PDP family.

Recall that Chief Richard Okotie, entertainment guru, who enjoys large followership within Sapele Local Government Area, made his resignation known through a letter addressed to his ward Chairman, kept party faithfuls worried. However, the party hierarchy, led by Chief Godwin Dadi, PDP Chairman, Sapele Local Government Area and Sapele LGA PDP Campaign Council Coordinator, Chief Cyril Ogodo, swiftly met with him in a five(5) hour closed door reconciliatory meeting, immediately the news broke.

Similarly, the Ward 7 Chairman of the PDP, Chief Okobabala, also made several entreaties to Chief Richard Okotie, in a bid to make him roll back his decision to quit partisan politics. Adding that his capacity and value to the PDP family will be a huge loss.

Chief Okotie, promised to consult with members of his immediate family and get back to the party with his final resolution.

Against this backdrop, I can authoritatively confirm that Chief Richard Randy Okotie, has rescinded his decision and has promised to continue to work assiduously with his time, talents and treasures, towards the growth and development of the PDP in Sapele LGA in particular and Delta State in general.

He profoundly thanked the leadership of the party for immediately deploying the party’s internal dispute resolution mechanism,(IDR), to effectively convince him back to the PDP family. Adding that the party’s hierarchy has proven to be men and women with uncommon leadership attributes.
