The Emete group under the Umbrella body of Urhobo Progress Union UPU have sent a welcome message to Nigerian athletes who participated at the just concluded Tokyo Olympics congratulating Ese Brume and Blessing Oborududu who won bronze in long jump and silver in Wrestling respectively.
The President General Emete, the female angle of the Urhobo Progress Union UPU, Hon Emuobor Ighovojah-Esombi in a communique made available to RERO TV welcomed the athletes back to Nigeria and heaped praise on the participants singling out Ughelli and Urhobo native Ese Brume who clinched one of the two medals won by the country.
Hon Emuobor said the Emete are super proud of Brume who put on display the rich gifts embedded in the Emete of Urhobo land.
She said her victory will serve as a motivation to every Emete child in Urhobo kingdom to work hard as there is dignity and reward in hard work.
Hon Emuobor finally tasked the athletes to continue striving for greatness and go from strength to strength so as to make the nation and Urhobo proud in subsequent events
