The President General of the Urhobo Progress Union World-wide Chief Joe Orode Omene JP who is the 1st plaintiff in Suit No. FHC/W/CS/10/2017 has cautioned Chief Moses Taiga and his co-travellers who are the defendants in the suit not to take the court and judicial processes for granted and to respect the rule of law.

It will be recalled that after Chief Omene and his national Exco held the constitutional Annual Conference of the UPU in December 2016 and elected an Exco, a renegade group led by Chief Moses Taiga, Chief V. E. Otomiewo Esq. and Owe Gams Esq. and others ( who are defendants) purported to hold another annual conference in January 2017 to elect the rouge Exco which have since invaded and seized the offices and property of the UPU at Okere Road and Ovwiamuge Agbarho.

Their action was challenged in the pending suit at the Federal High Court Warri. The suit came up today 7-11-2022 for judgment but judgment was reserved and the case adjourned sine die.

Not minding the pendency of the suit, Chief Moses Taiga and co are intensifying efforts to organize election to further entrench themselves in utter disregard of the pending judicial processes. It is even more surprising that some of defendants who are practising lawyers are acquiescing and counseling the disregard for the rule of law.

Nobody no matter what he thinks of himself should treat subsisting judicial proceedings with contempt.

Chief Moses Taiga and his cohorts should desist from further action that takes the court for granted especially purporting to organize election to build upon the illegality which is being challenged in the Federal High Court in which they are well represented by lawyers of their choice.
