Otefe-Oghara, 13th January, 2021

The Management of Delta State Polythechnic, Otefe-Oghara has postponed the Students Union Government (SUG) General elections indefinitely.

This is coming just hours into the polls on election day as rival opposition supporters clashed in a heated exchange in the School premises that has left many injured and requiring treatment.

According to our source, violence broke out just voting as supporters of yet to be identified Aspirants confronted each other. The ensuing violence left a host of students badly injured and the Management of the Institution has decided to stop the polls in order for more brutal exchanges not to occur with rumors of opposing supporters reinforcing for an imminent face-off.

Among the leading Aspirants for Students Union President are Comrade Dafinone Larry Opuoru from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Comrade Mufo Evans from Business Administration, Comrade Anthony Eyuruntela, Emmanuel Nelson Oghenechoja and others.

Efforts to speak to the School Authorities has been unsuccessful but we are keenly following proceedings for more Updates.
