The outgoing member representing Sapele Constituency at the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Chief Felix Uruemesiri Anirah has pinpointed several developmental plans of the incoming Governor – Elect of Delta State, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori ahead of his swearing in on May 29th, 2023.
Chief Anirah spoke to RERO TV via a telephone conversation where he revealed some of the plans that Oborevwori has outlined in his first 4 year tenure once he assumes office as Governor.
Anirah who has worked closely with Oborevwori during the Latter’s tenure as Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly posited that Oborevwori has very prudent and infrastructural plans that will satisfy Deltans.
“From my conversation with him, he intends to consolidate and further the work of Dr Ifeanyi Okowa by driving development to the rural communities in Delta State.
“He aims to Provide modern equipment to enhance the diagnostic analysis of patients across hospitals in Delta State with free antenatal care for pregnant women.
” He is also prepared to Provide infrastructures for industrial layout, light, water, good roads, electricity, to attract investors to invest in Delta State with concession to taxation.
” Oborevwori has emphasized the need on improving on the IGR (Internally Generated Revenue) to enable him maintain the Technical and University infrastructures recently developed by the Okowa Administration.
” Of great importance to his administration, Agriculture will be tackled head on to ensure that local farmers are given Agricultural inputs for the improvement in Output in their various farms as grants will also be given to farmers.
” Technical Education will be provided in all Local Governments to enhance the skills of our youths as Technical Colleges will be built in Local Governments yet to be established, as all the 25 Local Governments will boast one Technical College each with qualified tutors, which will in turn reduce over dependence on white collar jobs.
“The Governor- Elect, also stressed that he will enhance ICT in Delta as well as create skill acquisition programs for youths in Delta.
” Oborevwori went further to state that he will pay special attention to Sports in Delta and improve upon the giant stride of Governor okowa as Delta State will continue to dominate the Sporting world in Nigeria, under his watch.
” He has also stated that more road projects will be undertaken, a key insignia of the Okowa led administration that he hopes to continue”, he said.
