Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone, has congratulated the Ovie of Idjerhe Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Obukowho Monday Whiskey, JP, PhD, Udurhie I, on the occasion of his 60th birthday and fifth coronation anniversary, celebrated on Sunday, January 18, 2026.
In a press release signed by the Delta Central lawmaker felicitating with the king, Senator Dafinone described the dual celebration as “a remarkable milestone that speaks to God’s grace, a fulfilled life of service, and a reign anchored on wisdom, peace, and dignity.” He noted that the monarch’s life and reign exemplify the enduring values of responsible traditional leadership.
Reflecting on the Ovie’s five years on the throne, the Senator said the ascension of Udurhie I “ushered in a new era of purposeful traditional leadership in Idjerhe Kingdom,” adding that his reign has been “defined by unity, stability, and a renewed pride in our cultural heritage, while fostering peaceful coexistence among your people and strengthening communal bonds.”
Senator Dafinone prayed for divine blessings, asking that “the Almighty God grants you continued good health, renewed strength, and greater wisdom,” while expressing hope for “a long, peaceful, and prosperous reign” and sustained progress for Idjerhe Kingdom.
