Comr Collins Uduaghan Tosan the CEO Delta Interest Group has congratulated of Delta has congratulate , Barr. Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, on het victory at the tribunal earlier today.

He said that the verdict of the tribunal was a welcomed development, adding that the victory reinstates the will of the people of Kogi Central, which subverted by enemies of democracy. He further stated that against all odds the people voted massively for her during the election but we’re shortchanged, he thanked God for the well deserved victory at the tribunal.

He also commended the three-member panel of judges, led by K. A. Orjiako, at the Kogi State Election Petition Tribunal unanimously declared her winner of the election after nullifying the victory of the All Progress Congress (APC) candidate, Abubakar Sadiku-Ohere, for a thorough and very fair judgement.

In his final words he prayed God grant her victory at the court of appeal.

I congratulate you on behalf of my self and indeed the Uduaghan family and this victory was indeed worth celebrating considering the rigorous campaign process and the massive support during and after the campaign, the statement read.

It will be recalled that the Kogi State Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Lokoja, Kogi State has declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Barr. Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan as the duly elected Senator of the 2023 Kogi Central senatorial
election.

In a ruling delivered by the panel of Justices led by Justice K.A. Orjiako held that Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan proved beyond reasonable doubt issues of malpractices and irregularities during the senatorial election.

The further Tribunal held that Barr. Natasha of PDP scored 54,354 lawful votes while Ohere APC scored 51,291 votes.

The Tribunal consequently declared the election of Ohere of APC null and void and declared Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of PDP as the duly elected Senator of Kogi Central senatorial district with a 3,063 votes margin.

The Tribunal went further to describe the act of vote deduction as a terrible act and ordered APC/Ohere to pay a fine of N500,000 to Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of PDP.
