With the 2027 general elections approaching, Senator Ede Dafinone has thrown down the gauntlet to opposition parties in Delta State, declaring that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is positioned to win all five categories of elective positions in the state.

The Delta Central senator made the bold prediction on Thursday at Oleh Township Stadium, Isoko South Local Government Area, where he expressed confidence that the growing political strength of the APC, coupled with the performances of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, would translate into an overwhelming electoral victory for the party.

The senator described the massive turnout at the rally as evidence of the APC’s expanding political influence and growing acceptance across the state, insisting that the enthusiasm displayed by supporters in Oleh and Ozoro reflected the party’s increasing grassroots strength ahead of the 2027 elections.

He said the APC was confident of recording a five-over-five victory, attributing the party’s growing political fortunes to the performance of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the federal level and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s developmental programmes in Delta State.

According to Dafinone, the economic reforms introduced by the Tinubu administration were beginning to produce positive results, particularly in the areas of macroeconomic stability, foreign exchange management and the gradual moderation of prices of food and other essential commodities.

He argued that the relative stability of the naira and improvements in the country’s foreign reserves were indications that the Federal Government’s economic policies were yielding results, despite the initial challenges associated with the reforms.

The lawmaker maintained that the economic direction of the Tinubu administration, alongside the developmental strides of the Oborevwori government, would play a significant role in shaping voters’ decisions in the forthcoming elections.

On the political atmosphere in Delta State, Dafinone said the impressive crowds at the Oleh and Ozoro rallies had demonstrated that the APC was consolidating its presence beyond its traditional political strongholds.

He, however, warned party leaders and supporters against allowing the impressive turnout at rallies to create a false sense of victory, stressing that the party must remain committed to grassroots mobilisation until the last vote was cast and counted.

He said the APC was determined not only to win the 2027 elections but to secure such convincing electoral figures that would leave little room for post-election disputes.

“In this coming election, we want to win with convincing figures, overwhelming figures, so that our opponents would have no reason to go to court,” Dafinone declared.

He urged party leaders, stakeholders and supporters to intensify mobilisation across the 25 local government areas, wards and polling units, noting that political rallies alone could not guarantee electoral victory without sustained engagement with voters.

The senator also commended the leadership of the Delta State APC for adopting an issue-based campaign strategy, urging members to concentrate on governance, policies and verifiable achievements rather than engage in personal attacks against political opponents.

He said party faithful should respond to criticisms by presenting the records of the Tinubu and Oborevwori administrations, particularly in infrastructure, economic management and other areas of governance.

Dafinone further maintained that the combination of the Federal Government’s economic policies, the Delta State Government’s development agenda and the APC’s expanding political structures had positioned the party strongly for the 2027 elections.

He called for unity and discipline among party members, emphasising that the enthusiasm witnessed at the Oleh campaign flag-off must translate into concrete electoral support across the state
