Leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta Central have pledged to deliver a decisive “six-over-six” victory for the party in the 2027 general elections as Senator Ede Dafinone continued his consultation tour of Ethiope West and Sapele Local Government Areas.
The consultations, held on Sunday, brought together party leaders, political stakeholders and supporters, with speakers calling for greater unity, grassroots mobilisation and collective efforts to secure victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Senator Dafinone and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
The meetings also provided an opportunity for party leaders to assess the political strength of the two local government areas and rally members ahead of the elections.
Ethiope West Backs Dafinone, Promises Massive Votes
At Ethiope West, the APC Local Government Chairman, Hon. Clement Okorodide, described Dafinone’s consultation visit as a significant step towards strengthening the party at the grassroots.
Okorodide assured the senator that APC members in the local government remained united and committed to delivering all the party’s candidates at the polls.
Former member of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Halims Agoda, expressed confidence that Ethiope West would record one of the highest vote margins for the APC in Delta State.
Agoda said party members were already looking forward to a thanksgiving celebration after the 2027 elections, while commending Dafinone for what he described as effective representation through legislative interventions and constituency projects.
Also speaking, the Delta State Commissioner for Special Duties, Hon. Ejiro Etasherure, stressed the importance of unity among APC members, declaring that Ethiope West had no option but to work towards a “six-over-six” victory.
Former member of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ben Igbakpa, said Ethiope West had consistently demonstrated its political strength whenever its people were united.
Igbakpa commended Dafinone for engaging directly with the people and pursuing the interests of his constituents with humility.
A former chairman of Ethiope West Local Government Area, Chief Wilson Omene, urged APC leaders and members to subordinate individual ambitions to the collective interest of the party.
Omene also called for continued support for President Tinubu, stressing that victory in 2027 would require the collective efforts of party leaders and members.
Esiso Leads Sapele Mobilisation
The senator subsequently proceeded to Sapele Local Government Area, where the former Delta State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Kingsley Esiso, who is now an APC leader, led calls for support for Dafinone and other candidates of the party.
Esiso described Dafinone as a “Sapele boy” and urged the people to support one of their own at the polls.
“We are in Sapele and this is Sapele. Our leaders have spoken. What they have said is simply that all of us must vote for APC six over six,” Esiso said.
He commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for what he described as visible development and infrastructure across Delta State.
Esiso also charged political appointees and party leaders to intensify grassroots mobilisation and justify the confidence reposed in them by contributing to the party’s electoral success.
The Sapele meeting, held at the Sapele Local Government Council Secretariat, attracted prominent APC leaders and stakeholders from Delta Central, including the Delta Central APC Chairman, Chief Paulinus Akpeki, and the member representing Sapele Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Perkins Umukoro.
Dafinone: APC Will Win Six Over Six
Responding to the assurances from party leaders, Dafinone thanked stakeholders and members in Ethiope West and Sapele for their support.
The senator expressed confidence that the APC would emerge victorious in all the positions being contested by the party in the 2027 general elections.
“All the positions of the All Progressives Congress will be successful in the election come 2027. Six over six,” Dafinone declared.
He also described Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as a “capacity” and working governor.
Dafinone acknowledged the economic hardship being experienced by Nigerians but appealed for patience with the administration of President Tinubu, arguing that the ongoing economic reforms were designed to reposition the country for sustainable long-term prosperity.
He urged APC leaders and members to expand their reach beyond the existing party structure by engaging Nigerians who were yet to join the APC and persuading them to support the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
The consultations ended with renewed commitments from APC stakeholders to strengthen internal unity, deepen grassroots mobilisation and work collectively towards securing a “six-over-six” victory for the party across Delta Central in 2027.
