Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone, has congratulated Chief Oghenero Okoro and Mrs. Gladys Aghogho Okpomor on their election into national executive positions of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), describing their victories as a proud moment for the Urhobo Nation, Delta State, and Nigeria.

Okoro was elected as the First Vice President of the NBA, while Okpomor emerged as the Association’s Assistant General Secretary.

In a congratulatory message, Dafinone described the duo as exceptional legal practitioners whose emergence into the national leadership of the NBA was a testament to their years of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to the legal profession.

According to the senator, their victories were well deserved, noting that they reflected years of distinguished legal practice, exemplary leadership, and unwavering dedication to the ideals of justice and the rule of law.

He said Okoro’s tenure as former Chairman of the NBA Warri Branch and Okpomor’s service as former Assistant General Secretary of the Young Lawyers Forum, Minna Branch, demonstrated their competence and capacity for higher responsibilities.

“Their election did not come as a surprise. It is a fitting reward for years of professionalism, diligence, and hard work that truly embody the enduring Urhobo Can-Do Spirit,” Dafinone said.

The lawmaker urged the newly elected officials to deploy their wealth of experience in advancing the vision of the Nigerian Bar Association and strengthening the legal profession.

He expressed confidence that they would uphold the highest ethical standards, promote judicial independence, strengthen the Bar, and contribute meaningfully to reforms that would enhance public confidence in Nigeria’s justice system.

Dafinone also said their achievements should serve as an inspiration to young lawyers and professionals across Delta Central and the country, stressing that integrity, competence, resilience, and selfless service remain the foundation of enduring leadership.

“Your achievements reaffirm the timeless truth that integrity, competence, resilience, and selfless service remain the surest pathways to enduring leadership and national relevance. I have no doubt that your tenure will leave an enduring legacy of excellence and purposeful service,” he stated.

The senator, on behalf of the people of Delta Central Senatorial District, wished the newly elected NBA officials wisdom, strength, good health, and God’s guidance as they assume their new responsibilities.
