Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone, has congratulated former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Dr Stephen Orishe Oru, on his 79th birthday, describing him as a distinguished public servant and elder statesman whose contributions have impacted Delta State and Nigeria.

Dafinone, in a goodwill message issued to mark Oru’s 79th birth anniversary, said the former minister had distinguished himself through years of service to the state and the country.

The senator, who extended the felicitations on behalf of his family and the people of Delta Central Senatorial District, commended Oru for his contributions to public service, education and human capital development.

According to Dafinone, Oru’s career in public service includes his service as Chairman of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and Chairman of the Governing Council of Delta State Polytechnic, Oghara.

He noted that Oru’s involvement in the education sector reflected his commitment to developing human capacity and contributing to national progress.

Dafinone also acknowledged Oru’s tenure as Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, noting that he brought his experience and knowledge to bear in the service of the Niger Delta region and Nigeria.

He said Oru’s years of dedication to public service remained worthy of recognition and commendation, particularly as he marked another milestone in his life.

The senator wished the former minister continued joy, good health and blessings in the years ahead.

“Happy 79th birthday, Sir. May the years ahead be filled with greater joy, good health and continued blessings,” Dafinone said.
