The Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone, has expressed deep sadness over the death of the Episcopal Vicar of the Ughelli Pastoral Region and Parish Priest of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ughelli, Very Rev. Fr. Anthony Mario Ozele.
Fr. Ozele, who died at the age of 60, was described by Dafinone as a dedicated priest whose years of service to the Catholic Church and humanity touched many lives across Delta State.
In a condolence message, Dafinone commiserated with the Catholic Diocese of Warri, saying the death of the priest was a painful loss to the diocese, his parishioners and the wider community.
He said Fr. Ozele devoted his life to the service of God and the Church, while contributing to the spiritual and social wellbeing of those under his pastoral care.
According to him, the late priest’s pastoral service and leadership had made a lasting impact on many people, adding that his death would be deeply felt by the Catholic faithful, fellow priests and the wider community.
Dafinone extended his condolences to the Bishop of Warri Diocese, Most Rev. Anthony Ovayero Ewherido, the clergy, religious leaders, parishioners and the entire Catholic community over the loss.
He also commiserated with the family of the deceased priest and others mourning his passing.
The Senator acknowledged the difficulty of the moment for those who knew and loved Fr. Ozele, urging the Catholic faithful and others affected by the death to draw strength from the life of dedicated service he lived.
Dafinone prayed that Almighty God would grant the soul of Fr. Ozele eternal rest and give his family, the Catholic Diocese of Warri, parishioners, colleagues and friends the strength to bear the loss.
He further prayed that the legacy of the late priest would continue to inspire faith, service and compassion among those whose lives he touched.
“May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Amen,” Dafinone said
