The Honorable Commissioner for Oil and Gas in Delta State, Chief Vincent Oyibode has played host to the ever result driven Urhobo Progress Union, UPU Oil and Gas Technical Committee in his office at the State Capital in Asaba Delta State.

The UPU Oil and Gas Technical Committee is a body formed by the President General of the apex Social – Cultural body of the Urhobo Nation Olorogun Barrister Ese Gam and it is being lead by Chairman Comrade Lucky Ighoyota.

The meeting was well attended by other members of Exco as Ighoyota hailed the appointment of Chief Oyibode, before hinting him on the need to collaborate with the Oil and Gas Technical Committee, a body that has been charged with the responsibility to fight for the interest of the Urhobo people in the oil and Gas Sector.

Ighoyota went on in his address to lament the docile role that the Urhobo Nation currently plays in the Oil and Gas sector, despite accounting for a large portion of the crude oil that sustains the Nigerian Economy.

The UPU oil and Gas Technical Committee Chairman implored Chief Oyibode to use his good office and support the group in their quest for more inclusion of Urhobo Nation in the Oil and Gas industry.

Chief Vincent Oyibode in his remark lauded the initiative that established the group and assured of his unwavering support whenever the need arises.
