The Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone, has felicitated Muslims across Delta State and Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Eid-ul-Mawlid, urging them to uphold the virtues of peace, tolerance, compassion and peaceful coexistence.
Dafinone, in a goodwill message marking the celebration, described Eid-ul-Mawlid as an important occasion for Muslims to reflect on the life, teachings and enduring legacy of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.
He noted that the virtues exemplified by the Prophet, including compassion, humility, tolerance, sacrifice, peaceful coexistence and service to humanity, remained relevant to the development of a just, harmonious and prosperous society.
The senator urged Muslim faithful to continue to promote peace, unity, mutual understanding and respect for one another, particularly at a time when the nation requires greater cohesion.
He said Nigerians must focus on the values that unite them rather than allowing religious, ethnic and political differences to create division.
“Beyond our religious, ethnic and political affiliations, we are first and foremost Nigerians with a shared destiny,” Dafinone said.
He encouraged citizens to embrace love, tolerance, mutual respect and peaceful coexistence as part of collective efforts to build a stronger and more united Delta State and Nigeria.
According to him, the progress and prosperity of the country require the contributions of all citizens, irrespective of their religious, ethnic or political backgrounds.
Dafinone also prayed that the celebration would bring peace, renewed hope and prosperity to Nigerians, while asking Almighty Allah to continue to guide the nation’s leaders with wisdom.
He further prayed for the protection of communities across the country and greater stability, progress and prosperity for Delta State and Nigeria.
The senator wished all Muslim faithful a peaceful, joyous and spiritually rewarding Eid-ul-Mawlid celebration.
