Senator Ede Dafinone representing Delta Central Senatorial District in the Red Chamber, has been conferred with a prestigious Fellowship Award by the Institute of Planning Nigeria (IPN) in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the promotion of awareness and upholding professional ethics in planning and administration.

Presenting the award to the Distinguished Senator in Abuja recently, the Institute described him as a visionary leader whose contributions have significantly advanced the course of strategic development, professional standards, and policy formulation in Nigeria’s planning sector.

Speaking after receiving the honour, Senator Dafinone expressed gratitude to the Institute for the recognition, describing it as an encouragement to continue supporting initiatives that strengthen Nigeria’s development framework.

He reaffirmed his belief that effective planning and sound governance remain key to unlocking the country’s full potential, pledging to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to advance national and regional planning efforts.

“This honour reinforces my commitment to building a stronger planning culture in our nation, one guided by vision, data, and discipline.

“Through my sponsored bill to establish the Chartered Institute of Planning of Nigeria, we aim to institutionalize professional standards and align Nigeria’s development framework with global best practices”, he assured.

The Senator however called on stakeholders in different fields to imbibe the culture of structured and strategic across planning as a national imperative, emphasizing that He real is only achievable when development is anchored on strategy, professionalism, and long-term vision.

“Together, let’s keep shaping the future through purposeful planning because when we plan with purpose, we don’t just predict the future, we prepare to shape it”, he stated.
