Senator Ede Dafinone, representing Delta Central Senatorial District, has urged Nigerians to remain resilient and support ongoing economic reforms, expressing optimism that the sacrifices being made would ultimately produce a stronger and more prosperous country.

Dafinone made the call in an Independence Day message to mark Nigeria’s 66th anniversary, in which he felicitated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, the people of Delta Central and Nigerians across the country.

He said the anniversary should serve as a reminder of the collective responsibility to preserve national unity and work towards building a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.

The senator acknowledged the economic hardship being experienced by many Nigerians, noting that the ongoing reforms had required significant sacrifices from citizens.

“These are difficult times, but the emerging results of the Tinubu administration’s reforms should strengthen our resolve to persevere as the government works to restore stability, expand opportunities and improve the lives of our people,” Dafinone said.

He urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and continue to support the Federal Government as it implements its economic policies.

Quoting the biblical scripture that “weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning,” Dafinone called on citizens to remain resilient and continue to pray for President Tinubu as the country navigates the current period of economic adjustment.

The Delta Central senator also appealed to residents of Delta State to support Governor Oborevwori, stressing that cooperation between the Federal Government and the state administration was important to advancing development and attracting investment.

“I also call on the people of Delta Central and Delta State to continue to pray for and support Governor Sheriff Oborevwori. Cooperation between the Federal Government and Delta State is essential to advancing development, attracting investment and creating greater opportunities for our people,” he said.

Dafinone expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future, saying sustained unity and perseverance could help create a country where peace prevails and citizens have opportunities to pursue their aspirations.

“Together, we can build a new Nigeria where peace prevails and every citizen has the opportunity to pursue and achieve their dreams,” he said.

He urged Nigerians to remain united through the current challenges, expressing confidence that a brighter chapter lies ahead.

“Happy Independence Day, Nigeria. God bless Delta Central, Delta State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” Dafinone said.

The senator’s message comes as Nigeria marks 66 years of independence, with national leaders using the anniversary to reflect on the country’s economic challenges, ongoing reforms and prospects for greater prosperity.
