News of the gruesome attack that left the front line aspirant unconscious filtered in this evening according to friends who rushed the victim to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.

Opuoru had been a strong contender for the Students Union Government Presidential race with his stock rising by the day as he continues to garner support from all nooks and crannies of the institution but came a close 2nd at the polls.

Details of the attack are still sketchy but according to an eye witness who pleaded anonymity, Comr. Opuoru was attacked on his way back from Lectures just kilometres from his hostel.

“We were sitting outside our hostel at a store close to his residence when a mob attacked Opuoru on his way from lecture.

” At first we thought they were his supporters as everyday he always had people hailing him for presidency. It was more like a Nollywood movie scene when one of the gang members brought out a machete and hit Opuoru by the side of his neck. That was when we knew something was wrong. Scared for our lives, we all had to flee the scene for our safety.

“On returning to the scene we found him almost lifeless and we had to cry out for help. Luckily, some of his friends were alerted and they took him to an undisclosed hospital”. He spoke.

The Election has however been conducted with Opuoru coming out 2nd position.

The whereabouts of Comr. Larry Opuoru as at the time of filing this report are still unknown, but his friends have assured news men that he is safe and recuperating at an undisclosed hospital for safety reasons.

We are still gathering more information on this matter as we hope to get concrete results.
