Sapele residents has marked June 12 Celebration in a grand style by engaging in a maiden distance walk and a keep fit exercises for the old and young in the area, in a program tagged “Walk Of Life”
The novel event, which attracted large turnouts of participants, according to the Council Chairman, Hon, Bright Abeke, was to engage the people in physical exercises that would reduce fatigue and stress related illnesses, as he observed that regular exercise elongates ones life span, and surely increases ones life span by one year.
While flagging off the road walk at the Sapele Township Stadium with large attendants drawn from various segments of the society, the Council Chairman noted that it is physically rewarding to be involved in daily, morning exercises to keep fit and healthy as well as staying healthy and strong.
The exhaustive 13 kilometres road walk, which started off at the Sapele Township Stadium took a long distant trek to Okpe Grammar School on a musical decoration and a return movement to Olympia Roundabout before it’s termination at the Council Secretariat, Yoruba road. Sapele,
