Senator Ede Dafinone, representing Delta Central Senatorial District, has described teachers as “architects of Nigeria’s future,” commending their sacrifices and dedication to shaping the next generation.
Dafinone, in a message to mark World Teachers’ Day, said no nation could rise above the quality of its education, stressing that teachers remain central to the development of the country.
He particularly saluted teachers in Delta Central and across Nigeria for their contributions to the education of children and the development of their communities.
According to him, teachers do more than impart knowledge, as they also mould character, inspire ambition and equip young people with the values, confidence and skills required to confront the challenges of the future.
“Their classrooms are where dreams are nurtured and the foundations of responsible citizenship and national progress are laid,” Dafinone said.
The senator noted that behind every accomplished professional, entrepreneur, public servant and leader was the influence of a teacher, stressing the need for greater investment in the teaching profession.
He said improving the welfare, capacity and dignity of teachers should be regarded not only as an investment in education but also as an investment in Nigeria’s future.
Dafinone called for sustained efforts to address the challenges confronting teachers through improved working conditions, appropriate remuneration, continuous professional development and the provision of modern teaching tools.
He also advocated an enabling environment that would allow teachers to effectively discharge their responsibilities and give their best to every child.
The senator commended teachers across Delta Central, particularly those who continue to serve with dedication despite difficult circumstances, describing their resilience and commitment as worthy of recognition.
“To every teacher across Delta Central, particularly those serving with dedication despite difficult circumstances, I salute your resilience and commitment,” he said.
Dafinone, on behalf of his family and the people of Delta Central Senatorial District, wished teachers a happy World Teachers’ Day, expressing optimism that the lives they shape today would become the strength, leadership and prosperity of Nigeria tomorrow.
