PRESS RELEASE
The Youth Solidarity Congress (YSC), under the proactive, dynamic and visionary leadership of its National Youth President, Comrd. Rero Miracle Ogwilaya, has extolled the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and its Chairman, Barrister Chiedu Ebie, Esq., for their transformative efforts and renewed commitment to advancing development across the Niger Delta region.
In a statement made available to journalists, the YSC described the commissioning of the new NDDC office complex in Warri, Edjeba, Delta State, as a historic and groundbreaking achievement, signifying a new dawn in the Commission’s administrative and developmental drive. The statement hailed the project as a symbol of progress, accountability, and accessibility, reflecting a leadership that understands the pulse of the people and the urgent need for inclusive governance.
> “The leadership of the NDDC under Barrister Chiedu Ebie, Esq. has shown uncommon passion, commitment, and vision,” the statement read. “What we are witnessing today is not just the commissioning of a structure—it is the planting of institutional roots that will outlive generations, ensuring that the Commission remains close to the people it was created to serve.”
The Youth Solidarity Congress, a prominent youth advocacy body devoted to promoting transparency, unity, and empowerment, further noted that since Barr. Ebie assumed the mantle of leadership, the NDDC has reawakened the spirit of development through infrastructure renewal, youth engagement, and strategic partnerships. The group commended his focus on sustainable growth, accountability, and regional cooperation, describing it as the mark of a leader driven by integrity and purpose.
The statement added that the opening of the Warri Edjeba office is a strong indication of the Commission’s renewed vigor toward decentralization and community-centered governance—bringing development initiatives closer to the grassroots and promoting direct access between the Commission and the people.
> “We, the Youth Solidarity Congress, under the distinguished leadership of Comrd. Rero Miracle Ogwilaya, wholeheartedly commend the giant strides recorded by Barr. Chiedu Ebie, Esq. and his capable team,” the statement continued. “Your leadership reflects sincerity of purpose and an unwavering determination to reposition the NDDC as a truly developmental agency that embodies the aspirations of the Niger Delta people.”
Furthermore, the YSC called on the Commission to intensify its engagement with the youth population of the Niger Delta, describing them as the heartbeat and creative powerhouse of the region. The group emphasized that the future of the Niger Delta lies in its young people—innovators, artisans, entrepreneurs, and professionals who must be meaningfully engaged and empowered to contribute to regional and national development.
> “The youths of the Niger Delta have remained resilient, dynamic, and innovative even in the face of adversity,” the group stated. “They are the drivers of creativity and progress. It is, therefore, our collective duty to invest in them through mentorship, education, and sustainable empowerment programs. We call on the NDDC to expand its youth initiatives and create more platforms that harness their potential.”
The statement went further to commend the Commission’s current focus on infrastructure, education, and community empowerment, noting that these are critical pillars in achieving a truly prosperous and peaceful Niger Delta. The YSC expressed confidence that, under Barr. Ebie’s leadership, the NDDC would continue to operate as a beacon of hope and transformation—a body that embodies transparency, inclusiveness, and development-oriented leadership.
> “We are proud to identify with your leadership, Barrister Ebie,” Comrd. Rero Miracle Ogwilaya affirmed. “Your style of administration has rekindled the confidence of many young people in public institutions. You have shown that leadership is about service, vision, and empathy. The Youth Solidarity Congress stands with you as you continue to reposition the NDDC for greater impact.”
As the statement concluded, the Youth Solidarity Congress reaffirmed its readiness to partner with the NDDC and other development-focused institutions in the collective effort to advance youth inclusion, regional stability, and sustainable growth in the Niger Delta. The group also congratulated all staff and management of the NDDC for their dedication and professionalism in bringing this vision to life.
> “This is indeed a landmark achievement and a testament to purposeful leadership. The commissioning of the Warri Edjeba office marks a turning point in the NDDC’s journey and serves as a reminder that great things happen when leaders lead with passion, commitment, and faith in their people,” the statement concluded.
